Combining the atmosphere of old Mexico with the luxury of a modern home, the Corona Adobe offers an unusual way to experience Puerto Vallarta.
Each guest enjoys a unique room with private bath, a living area, access to a kitchen, pool, BBQ, and two decks with stunning views of Puerto Vallarta. Relax in the sun, stroll the streets of this Mexican neighborhood, or walk down the hill to Puerto Vallarta’s boardwalk, the Malecon. In the evening, there are dozens of Vallarta’s finest restaurants within a couple of blocks, or a half dozen night clubs for those who want to dance the night away, or shops galore along the Malecon.
The Corona Adobe is a 6200 sq. ft. home with three guest suites, three kitchens, five bathrooms, a pool and sunning deck, an observation deck with BBQ and dining room table and an outdoor “secret bedroom” on the top floor. Guests can rent one of the suites or the entire house. The Corona Adobe is for those who want to participate in city life. There are better places for those who desire only to lie on the beach and take in the sun.
A Bit of History
The Corona Adobe began life 100+ years ago as a collection of one room adobe huts and barns. It’s reported to be the seventh house on Vallarta’s electrical grid. Today, the houses directly across the street capture the original adobe feel as they still contain a labyrinthian collection of rooms. Over the decades it has undergone remodeling and refurbishing by its various owners. In 2010, its current owners purchased the home.
In January 2012, construction began on what would become the Corona Adobe. For those interested, you can read the trials and tribulations of building a house here: The Restless Traveler. Fourteen months of construction later, the Corona Adobe is open.
